All teachers who are invited by Marjó to come and teach at Passaddhi are known to her, and she will have been on retreat with them herself.

Frits Koster

Frits Koster (1957) began practising insight meditation 23 years ago. He ordained as a Buddhist monk for six years, practising vipassana meditation and studying Buddhist scriptures in meditation centres and monasteries in Thailand and Burma.

In 1988 he returned to the Netherlands, where he has been facilitating meditation retreats ever since. He disrobed, and now works part-time in psychiatric health care, as well as offering courses in Buddhist psychology and philosophy.

Frits has been coming to Ireland since 1990 to teach meditation retreats. For the past 7 years he comes to Passaddhi twice a year to teach 10-day retreats in vipassana or insight meditation.

Frits has written several books, including Liberating Insight (Silkworm Books, 2004) and Buddhist Meditation as Stress Management (to be published in 2006).
